I have a 1990 525i that I am rebuilding. Any input would be appreciated.

Shopping with intention to purchase:

I am looking for a rear-end with lower gearing. The standard gears are too tall.

Alternatively (or additionally) I am looking for a way to install a 6 speed manual.

I have seen articles on these two drive train conversions on the five series but not for my year and model.

I am planning on doing the suspension system eventually. I may do this now while I have it up on blocks or I might do this later. I have been considering one of the Dinan systems.

Already contracted, installed or waiting in my garage:

I already installed a Dinan computer chip and intake manifold.

I have the new motor and clutch kit from Bavarian engine exchange out of Sacramento.

I have a new tri-flow muffler from Bavarian Auto Sport.

I have contracted with someone to make custom headers and pipes back to and including the cat.
