just want to know what everyone's opinion is on those coin car washes. i'mtalking about the car washes where you pay in quarters and wash your car with their brush and hose. i hate taking my car to the regular car washes because they always seem to screw up the job. however, the power hoses at these dyi car washes seem a bit too powerful.

NEVER use the brush on your car.
You can adjust the pressure of the hose by backing up a fot or two.
Take your own supplies off your shelf from home(towels, bucket, car wash, etc)
You can then wash your car with less worries of using substandard products at "the car wash".
Unless you do not have your own water hose(such as an apartment complex), I see no advantage of using a "coin car wash..."

I'd caution against using them on a regular basis. The soap solution is typically fairly high with harsh cleaning agents that will, in all likelyhood, remove the wax from your paint and the strip the protective oils from your plastic trim.

If you don't have a place to wash your car at home find a dead time slot at the place and wash with your own wash bucket. Use only a pH balanced car wash solution (Most are pH balanced).

When you're rinsing your paint use the "Just Plain Water" setting.
