Aloha guys , I got a Dinan chip and exhuast for my 318 the other day and installed them this morning. The chip is easy to install and I felt a difference right away. I had my exhaust shop remove my cat but keep the resonater . The exhaust is raspy and aliitle loud but I love it ...and I'm 36 yrs old. The best part is it sounds so diff. than a ricer so its great . Too bad I didn't get it dynoed before the mods like I should've done , but oh well. So now top RWHP is 125 at 6k and 114.91 torque at 5k. Th eDinan site said it would be 150 hp but I'm assuming thats at the crank. But my car feels like its alot more than 125 horses.

Guys , how much hp do I lose thru the drivetrain? The shop said 15 to 20% ..
Next month I'm going to change plugs and use synthetic oil in my trans and differential . I might be able to squeeze acouple more horses out of her..

I'd love to get some feedback on the numbers or other mods for a 91 318is ..

Thats about right, 15-20% power loss.
Please keep posting dynos as you mod - its great to hear!
I chipped mine like 6 years ago and i could feel it for the first week or so, then the luster wore off, lol.
i should have dyno'd mine before the changes, but i hope to do it when i get it back. Will be equivalent of a new rear diff. upgrade and exhaust.

I believe the JC chips are better in the lower RPM ranges and very similar to the Dinan at WOT. I think the Dinans don't really kick in until 3000 RPM.
