88's still had the same metal bumpers, but they had the new lower bumper with the built in fog lights. Btw, the "e" doesn't really mean it's the "economy version" as far as bumpers are concerned, just the engine. 89-91 bumpers I'm not sure, they probably do, but they're not something that will just bolt on. Use this site and cross reference all the parts http://www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do

If your car has the large chrome bumpers, you can fit the smaller "euro" chrome bumpers, but not the newer plastic ones, unless you want to pend alot of time mucking around with custom brackets and replacing the front valance etc too.

Making the plastic bumpers fit a metal bumpers car is a major pain so I've been told.

so basically if you push that metal lower part to bumper back those plastic bumpers would fit up against it...im asuming maybe with some different mounting points maybe??

need to do something because my metal bumpers look like crap

honestly how hard is it to take the bumpers off...im a mechanic so i can probably handle it [fake]

It's not hard, there are only 4 bolts holding it on... and rust. You've gotta take the whole bumper off, and the black plastic crap... but do you even have the plastic bumpers to begin with?

Yepp,
I just bought one off ebay about a month ago for my 85 325e and it made it a lot faster. It wasn't a Dinan Chip but it was something else I can't remember right now, it was like $45 and I installed it in 15 min. Awesome, easy upgrade.
Brian.
