I have a 1991 E30 that seems to have some weirdness witht he coolant reservoir.
I recent changed all the coolant hoses, clamps and thermostat. I replaced the radiator reservoir and used all new BMW parts. Upon refilling with the bleed screw loosened everything went fine. Now the reservoir is empty all the time and the car doesn't overheat.
If I remove the radiator cap the coolent int he reservoir rises to the "COLD" level (midpoint of the reservoir). Immediately upon starting the level drops to zero and stays there until the cap is removed again when the car is cold.
Does anyone know if this is normal or is there a problem of some sort?
Scott
