Are there any E30 owners that live in Va. Most of the guys on my team have friends with similar cars because they own more popular Jap cars (Rx-7, 240sx, cars like that) and no one has a car like mine.

I'm in Maryland. I'm only 17, and don't have anything done to my ride yet, but I'm not too far away I don't think. What part of VA are you in? Hopefully I'll be getting some things here in the near future. Have anything done to yours?

I'm only 17 also. I live in chesapeake, about 45 minutes from Virginia Beach. So far I have Eibach Springs, Bilstein Sport Shocks, Racing Dynamics sway bars, 15" Team Dynamics Pro Racer rims (weigh 13.2 pounds), Kumho Ecsta SPT tires, poly bushings, and a B&M short shifter. Lately Ive been focusing on replacing old worn out parts, like vacuum lines, cooling lines, heating lines, radiator, water pump, thermostat, and exhaust mounts. The only aftermarket powertrain mods that I have are exhaust wrap, magnafow cat, custom intake that pulls from under the car, and K&N filter. I also have a powdercoated valve cover and Royal Purple synthetic tranny and diff fluid.

Who did your valve cover? I want mine done too. Where'd you get the intake done? I really want to do that...as soon as I sell some stuff I should have about 900-1k to drop on my car. What all do you think I should do?

I'm looking at some exhaust stuff, but I can't really find anything I want to do. Also Eibach springs, intake, Conforti chip, maybe some other little things. If I can afford it I'd like to get 205 tires for the rear wheels. That'd be cool...

I cleaned the intake manifold and valve cover myself, then me and a friend got a few things together and he took them in and got them powdercoated. I made the intake myself, I can post some pictures of it so you can get some ideas.

If you could post pics of the intake that would be awesome. I'm really kinda stuck on the intake part...BMP has one but I want something a little more hardcore than the little cone in place of the stock airbox.

you should probably just paint the valve cover yourself. I dunno how much a job would cost but I did mine for about 20 bucks. Just buy a valve cover gasket to replace the old one when you're done painting. Just pull the nuts off the top of the valve cover (consult a shop manual to find the correct order for removing these), then just remove the cover and paint on a soft, flat surface. You can buy high heat engine paint intended for temperatures exceeding that of an exhaust manifold. You can find the paint at schucks/kragen or whatever the other one is. Dry overnight, worst case scenario put on another coat in the morning and let it sit according to manufacturer's instructions. Replace the gasket, replace the nuts and you're good to go. I ended up with a really nice looking wrinkle coat because I ran my car before the paint was all the way dry (very thick coats). It wasn't intentional but I'd recommend it. Just let it dry overnight and have at. I have my intake and exhaust manifolds painted as well. Keep in mind that painting the valve cover with heat resistant paint may cause your engine to disipate heat less rapidly, putting you at *potential* risk for overheating. I experienced no problems whatsoever and everything's covered.

Thanks e30fr3@k, I figured something like that would work, but was going to ask if anyone had tried it. Anyone know of a track somewhere near the middle of the 3 of us? (epj3, dub, and myself) I'd love to meet up with you guys.

I keep seeing the bulbs like that. Mine are fugly, just solid white circles. I'd really like to get some nicer looking ones. What kind are they? If you happen to have it, could you get me a part number? If not, I'll look around.

Those aren't the bulbs, they are lenses. The headlights are called "Ellipsoids". They're about $100 used for Hella's, about $150 - $200 if you buy depo euro spec (which is what I would personally do, dont listen to the people who say depo's are bad... depo's e36 headlights are shitty, but their e30/e34/e28/etc. lights are good). OR you can buy NEW hella's for $600.

Jordan - guy in an audi A4 was really cool, and made a left turn right in front of me.

I was going about 35 when i hit the brakes, but i hit him AS I hit the brakes, and he was coming diagionally at me at around 20, so speed after braking I would guess was around 30 combined.

E30 COULD have probably been fixed (not worth it for a car that old though), but his audi was totaled!! A brand new 2004 audi [rofl]
