I have experienced some difficulty in the process of removing the oil pan from an M50 on a 92 525i. After removing all bolts (including 3 which went through the manual transmission bellhousing) and followed the instructions in the Bentley manual, but after tapping the pan with a rubber mallet and prying gently with a screwdriver it doesn't come off. Basically, it seperates in the front but something in the rear seems to be caught up. Anyone know how to get these things off? Thanks

Your dipstick goes through the oil pan, and is attached to the block... that might be holding it on. The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is to count the bolt you removed, and then count the holes in your new gasket and make sure you have the same number... maybe you missed one.
