E34 535 owners... (bahnfire? are we the only ones?)

Can you take a look at your alternator/waterpump vbelt? I ordered one from autohaus who has listed a 13X1040 but everywhere I look it says the length is 1055. I ordered one from them and they are gladly returning it (obviously to small - didn't fit over alternator pulley). They emailed me back and said all their sources say 1040, but the old belt on my car was a 1055, etk had 1055, dealer was going to sell me a 1055, etc. Is my car different or something

Just a little heads up to M30 e34 owners who shop at autohaus, as I do. Their prices are awesome

Your car is tight!!!! I wanted to ask you some questions regarding your bimmer since we have the same one almost except mines is a 525i. I'd like to know what things are good to check and replace and have you had any major problems with your car? Right now mines is stock but I would like to make some custom modifications to it.

Won't make a bit of difference on the e34, in fact putting the stock airbox back on increased throttle response vs. the k&n cone filter on before...

depends if u run with or w/out a heatshield...

all that heavy plastic on the stock intake airbox helps to battle the crazy heat the m30 generates...

Thx for the info bimmer buddies lol....I recently went to the dealer and got a pre-owned handbook for the E34 model and I see some very nice things that I'm going to get. What I really want is the burlwood panels on my dash boards and console does anyone know where I can get that at? instead of going through the dealer how about some kind of place that sells only bmw parts for interior and exterior? my car doesn't have wood only leather unfortunately what was that first new owner thinking darn them lol......

My car is the same way. Unfortunately if your interior doesn't have the spots for the wood trim already (like the doors), you might have to replace the entire panel. I'd try ebay.
