E34 Door Locks

Hey guys, Im having a problem with the key switches in the doors and trunk of my 89' 525i. When I go to lock it, the locks pop back up on their own. On top of this, the pass door won't even lock by hand! Anyone had this prob before? Do I need new key switches? Thanks.

yah i've had this prob on my sister's 535ia 1990
its a pain in the arse to diagnose and ended up
being that her trunk lock was faulty and caused
the whole sys to pop back up after we locked it

This is what happens when the general module receives a lock request but also a unlock request at the same time. Usually caused by a defective door lock actuator or one that is out of adjustment. Since the pass. door doesn't even lock I suspect that may be problem and would start by looking there.

Hey Bimmer folk,

I just started having this problem yesterday as a matter a fact now I have to sometimes leave my car unlocked when I get out. I know I have been having problems with my trunk latching due to a torn or pushed by part of the frame around the lock. Do you all know for sure that it is a faulty lock somewhere in the system or A MAJOR QUESTION I HAVE IS> IS IT PART OF THE COMPUTER BRAIN STARTING TO MALFUNCTION?? OR I GUESS IT IS CALLED THE ECM ON THE CAR?
