E39 M5 vs 540 reliability and maintenance

How E39 M5 ans e39 540i (6 speed) compare to each other in terms of reliability and maintenance costs (repair, parts etc)? Please share, thanks.

Maintenance costs on the M are ridiculous! I dont know about the 540.. but i know one thing, they share the same level of rigidity and durability!
