OK, I removed the trunklid inner liner and removed the backuplight pod/holder. It seems there IS a rearfog reflector and lens and indeed a hole for the light bulb to go into the reflector/lens. However, there is no bulb holder, just a flat plate.
I suspect I could install a bulb holder and wire up to the current plug (there's a three-pole connector but only two poles are used...interestingly the third pole on the pod goes to the hot connector for the foglight lamp, but there is no hole in what would be the ground/bulb holder) but I'd rather have the stock BMW pod!
Anyone in Europe with an 03 M3 have rear fogs as stock? And what's the part number on the backup light/foglight pod/bulb holder?
