Have tried cleaning contacts, changing bulbs. No use. My front yellow running light and rear red running lights both on passenger side have no power and dont work. They turn signals work on both and brakes work on both. funny as I think they are probably inline in harness and there is a problem.

Any ideas how to fix or troubleshoot?

a nieghbor says since its only running lights that I should jump them to the working drivers side same lights. Does this sound right?

Thanks

Not having experience this specifically, but knowing something about electricity...

Considering that your brake/signal lights are working, you've probably got a good ground. That is if it's the same 1157(?) bulb that has both the tail and brake/signal filaments in one. The fact the front and rear dont' work indicates it is probably not in the fixture...

As far as jumping the lights. No, I wouldn't do that just yet. Remember, the wiring and fuses are designed for one side, so they might not handle the extra load. And when it blows, now you'll lose all your lights.

Try rocking your fuses. Move them around in the fuse box, or pull and reinsert each one one at a time. Consider dialectric grease. And make sure they're all closed (not blown).

Good diagnosis. Unfortuntaly the E-30 has single wire bulbs unlike the multi function 1157 in most cars. So the gray wire that controls the rear running bulb only and I believe the front running is inline from what I can read and have been told. It goes to the same fuse I believe as well. Thanks for the help, I apprieciate all of it!

If you have a test light handy, make sure you have 12 volt at the fuse box too, problems like this are frustrating, i know your pain.
Good luck!
