Hi everyone. I have a 1990 325i and am looking for a motor for it. A friend has a BMW inline 6 at his shop but he doesnt know what it came out of. Is there any info around about engine identification so I can find out what this came out of? I want to see if its an I engine and if it will work for me.

Thanks, Jon

that is ture but the difference between the m50s m52 m20 ect.
True, quite different indeed.

We just need to see a detailed picture of the engine, and between Justin, Joseph, Jordan and I, we should be able to tell you what the engine it's from and if it'll work.

I know you can put a M50 engine in a E30, BMP Design has a step by step CD-ROM on how to do it. Don't think it'll just bolt on though.
