Lots of different schools of thought here. I run a 10w40 quality brand mineral due to the age of these cars. Generally speaking a pre-90's car will have been run on mineral most of its life and the motor will have been designed to run on around 20w50. 10w40 mineral for me makes sense as a good compromise between new oil technology and what the motor was designed for.

Others swear by the new synthetic blends.

If you rebuild the motor go synthetic - if its an older high-mileage example go for the mineral.

Thats my $0.05c
