I know that the college age people are off the the brain factories, but as fall approaches what are you planning for fun? With us topless folks I start thinking about putting her away for the season. This gives me time to service the beast and do some upgrading. I plan on having my wheels re-done and painting the calipers. I will post project photos once I start.

Sounds cool. What color are you gonna paint them? I was thinking about doing that at one point, but got side tracked. Looking forward to the pics.

I vote for red!

I am so far behind in my projects but I hope to catch up by November.

Sitting in my garage right now I have 25 gallons of exterior paint, 4 gallons for unfinished interior work, a kitchen that I need to tile, and supervise the removal and installation of a new front yard.

The yard part is easy because I get to watch. I am having a wall of boulders put in accross the front where the grade changes. Then I am removing the grass from the lower half and putting in desert landscaping and leveling and replacing the grass on the top part that will be retained by the boulder wall.

I am exhausted just thinking about all of this.

DIY is a great way to add value with little cost but it is sure a lot of work.

Hmmm....well when I was considering doing them, I was thinking about sticking to the only two colors on my black car...the orange side markers or red. When I got to thinking about all the brake dust and road crud, I was wondering maybe it didn't matter what I painted them...they'd end up black anyway. You appear to have the advantage of only using your drop top during the summer months, so you can keep it clean. I'd be curious to know if painted calipers keep their color. If they have to be cleaned periodically, does brake cleaner take off the paint leaving partly painted calipers? Should you take them off the brake lines or just cover everything in the wheel hubs (i wouldn't want pray paint anywhere near my car, but it'd probably work if you use a brush?). Who has experience with painting calipers and knows how they hold up?

Being in SoCal, fall plans are the same as winter, spring and summer. Weather doesn't really change much so no reason to alter activities due to weather. If I had a vert, it'd be top down cruising just like the rest of the year. :)

I have been so busy with work travel this summer I didn't get all my summer work done, and here comes fall. Arrgh!
1. Close the pool.
2. Seal the driveway.
3. Clean & paint some outside house trim that is getting a little flaky.
4. Paint the calipers on the 325 when UPS brings the new wheels/tires next week. I was thinking red also. The car is Boston Green, is that too Christmas-y?

No, I think red looks good on all calipers. I might try some construction paper in various colors and hold it behind the wheel to see what the color looks like.

big d, try high heat anodized paint. the color is incredible.

noodle, the calipers don't require alot of cleaning. most of the dirt is gone when you wash your car.

well I need to hire someone to paint the back and top sides of the house, fix some railings on the front porch, pull all the weeds that I let go this summer, change out the cable to the pool light, plant a palm that I got earlier in the summer, install two new toilets, put down a threshold where I knocked out a wall one Saturday night...........looks like I could keep someone busy, I need an Elvin the Painter....

as for what I am going to be doing........more topless rides since the weather has cooled off a bit, redecorating my bedroom, painting the kitchen cabinets and more travel out of town as always......... [^]

Well, it's only three more weeks and my wife and I will be off to Vegas. After we get back, I will probably try my hand at floor tiles. I will be replacing the vinyl ttiles with ceramic in the bathrooms and painting the interior of the house now that the warrenty has expired and we ***finally*** got the builder to fix the leak around the patio door.

Also, with winter approaching, it will be time to start fighting with the wife to get a snow mobile. Unfortunatetly, I will probabaly loose the fight as in years past.
