I wanted to ask this but didn't want to start a new thread for this, so I thought I'd use this one becuase theres not much point to it.

How old is everyone one here, so far I just know Big Daddy is 30-40, HITMAN is 16, Push is 19 and I'm 13, what about the rest of you?

But now we mac users us safari the best internet browser out there. It even blocks pop ups that explore lets through, and there is a huge dif. in the speed safari is much faster.

Even i know that macs used netscape as well as IE. i would like to know HOW safari could possibly be faster!!! by blocking ads it slows down the page because of the search. i don't want my BROWSER to stop pop-ups i use my fire-wall. The speed thing again. i use a 512kbps connection at home and work no page takes more than 30secs to view (even with loads of pics) at UNI i use a T3 43Mbps connection which loads pages instantly. the only way to increase the speed significantly is hardware upgrade.

30 secs is a lifetime

and yes blocking popups makes it faster because it takes time to load a popup.

I have done a comparison of explore vs. safari with both windows open at the same time.
Safari is much faster.

PLease lets not fight

But your running a windows derrived peice of software on a mac. IE on your mac is running through a shelled application window making it slower than on a PC. and 30secs is not a life time for the highest quality *AHEM* IMAGES *AHEM* i could find [:D]

the popup blocking issue will only make sense if your running on a slower connection (less than a meg/sec) on the T3 it will make no differance, but the program that stops the popups will require greater resources than the one that doesn't.
