I've found myself a nice little gem here... Its been sitting outside in the rough part of town for over 6 months, had a bum living in it for a while, and the interior is all covered in mildew
I haven't gotten it home yet, but he said that he drove it there 6 months ago, parked it... dunno what happened, but the ignition was cut and that seems to be it... its all there, nothing else broken... seats and carpet/dash are covered in milew though... Is that cleanable ya figure, off the dash? The seats/carpet are going into the garbage right away... but the dash I'd like to clean.
The body seems to be in very good shape... need to get both the BMW logo's, and a couple taillight lenses... the right shock tower has been reinforced with a big metal plate because rust started to form further down the tower.. so I'm thinking that huge plate is more than enough to last a while... There is one bit of rust about 10" long right above the bumper, but it seems very isolated, like it was a bad weld or something that rusted it out... but I can repair that with fiberglass after cutitng the rust out... Rest of the body has perfect paint I think... Other than that, I just need to get it to pass aircare...
All for $200, too thats Canadian!
I'm looking forward to starting to clean it up and begin this project, restoring it to as-new as best as I can...
I'll take pictures soon
