When I bought my car the air dam was cracked off and I never got it. I found an IS dam on ebay for $50 shipped Just needs to be painted. Just want to make sure this would work so I posed a pic of my car and the air dam I got. Did I get the right thing?

What you bought was the front valance. It should mount up with relatively little difficulty, however, you will need to get a spoiler to cover it. The only spoilers that will fit with that particular valance is the factory 'es' or 87'is' spoiler or the Racing Dynamics front spoiler that looks like the es/87'is spoiler.

Honestly...without the spoiler, the car will probabbly look quite odd. Also, you will need a different kind of fog light than the ones you have mounted to your bumper. They use different brackets to mount to the valance.

If you need them, I'll be happy to supply you with the part numbers.

equate,

The first one works with the early style aluminum bumpers. In order to use the second one, you will need to remove the bumper assembly to mount it. The only piece missing from the second one - aside from the fog lights - is the lip spoiler. It looks less goofy than the first one if you don't add it, but it still looks a bit off.

The early style es/87 is spoilers are NLA from the dealer, and speaking from an aftermarket business stand point, I've been unable to locate a company selling reproductions. The later style lip is still available at a small fraction of the price of the old style. I.e. less than 100 vs. 400+.

Hope this helps.
