Recently purchsed 1998 528i in fantastic condition. Lady that owned it previously was mid 60's and according to the dealer where I got it fom she really took care of it well. I can't imagine not having a BMW after only 2 months of driving this one.

Although the gas mileage has been great (actually better than the sticker projections) I was thinking about introducing a fuel system cleaner just before the next oil change. I have read good things about Red Line SL-1, Schaeffer's Neutra 131 and Fuel Power and Techron Concentrate.

Did a search on this forum and it seems like 1 or 2 members have used Red line. Anyone use any of these products regularly? Any thoughts are appreciated. [thumb] I thought maybe a full dose of techron and then maintenance doses with every other tank of gas. Don't have Cheveron with techron gas around these parts.

Thanks!!

Big Daddy,

Do you use the redline on a regular basis for maintenance or just a couple of times a year?
I think my engine is fairly clean since I am exceeding the estimated fuel mileage. Just thought that the techron or redline could be preventative.

Thanks.

I use it about every third fill-up in the 750 as my wife does a lot of short distance city driving. In the roadster I use it about three times a year is all. When the roadster gets driven it is usually for greater distances and at various speeds including freeway speeds.

I buy mine from Eurasian a case at a time. They give case discounts.
