I think my car hates me, I sort one thing out and something else happens. The damn thing wont start now. It trys but just wont fire, I'm thinking either the dizzy cap or the fuel pump. Is there anyway of tetint to see if the fuel pump is working before i replace it.

thanks

In a workshop manual, i saw that you had to cut the fuel line and place a fuel presure gauge in series to see if your getting any presure, i think my car has shit fuel presure because it is a bitch to start at times too,
maybe try little things like, replacing the fuel filter, i know thats where im going to start on my 323i, there are many resons why a car wont start aswell, what about the spark plugs? air filter maybe loaded with shit, check every easy thing before pulling the pump off,

let me know how you go.

you have to upload to a web site and link to it. i use my space on aol.
By the way, got my car going, I changed all the plugs and altered the air flow, Just gota litle bit of a prob with my idle now, it starts about 15 and the drops after the engine has warmed up to about 9 / 10.

thx bunker.
Maybe your air box is dirty inside, mine wasnt idling well at all so i pulled the whole box out and used a rag to clean the flow meter "butterfly" (filled with yukky stuff) and now it idles at a nice 1000rpm rather than 450-500rpm also, periodicly lubricate the slide on your vaccume throtle adjuster for trouble free operation :D
