I have a 1988 E30 325i. For some reason the fuse keeps blowing...?
I put a new one in, 15a and it lasts a few days but blows again... whats wrong?? [scratch]

Also The central locking doesnt work properly...
Sometimes i can lock the passenger door, filler cap and boot from the boot and sometimes i cant...and the solenoid in the drivers side doesnt work...Could this be the solenoid in the drivers door or a falty central locking module?? [scratch]

Thanks in advance...
Please email me on chris_h2k@hotmail.com Would be most appreciated if you could help.
Thanks

Electrical problems are sometimes found by knowing where to look. Sounds stupid but evalutae the situation and troubleshoot accordingly.

If you find that its one window in particular (driver/passenger) then the wire to that door has rubbed to the ground. So when you hit the open/close button, the fuse will blow because the wire grounds out and so much current is pulled through, it blows the fuse.

Take the car appart and see that you can find.

If the driver's side door lock motor (they are actually electric motors, not solenoids) doesn't work right then that is probably the problem with your locks. When the locks aren't working right and you try to lock the car from the trunk (boot), do the locks lock and then immediately unlock? If they do this, then there is a fault with one of the lock motors (probably the driver's door). When you lock the car from the driver's door, do the rest of the locks work fine? If the rest of the locks work fine when you lock or unlock the driver's door and when you lock from the trunk or the passenger's door the locks lock and then immediately unlock, then you need a driver's door lock actuator motor. If none of the power locks work, then there is a more central problem. I can help you with that if you give me more details about how the locks are behaving.
