Yeah, I read about this. I am hoping it applies to the G35 Sedan and not the Coupe, and I am hoping it is not a sign of the car's overall safety. [xx(]
Oh yeah, and as for the Mercedes, I would never ever question Mercedes safety...BMW and Mercedes are the safest cars out there.

Yea, our minivan had a 5 star saftey rating but in real-life situations the van is worse than most cars in a front offset crash (the most common type of accidents)

Dont believe ANY saftey ratings from independent tests. The companies get their fingers into the results.

Because not all cars out there get that type of rating. I do believe that your car got a high rating.
Yes it did but 40 mph front offset would give you about 5-6 inches of space between the seat and the dashboard which is pushed up and towards you (so your knees would indeed be crushed)

We had this old '75 diesel Merc that was a beast of a machine. That was a hunk of metal that was indestructable, that is, unitl my sister got a hold of it. She totaled it, but took out 3 other cars with her, and really, the only reason it was totalled was b/c it would be too much to fix it back up for what it was. That was a good car.

Did you know that only %15 percent of the Mazda 6's came with a six cylinder engine. On top of that, only %5 came with a six speed transmission. That was definately a very good marketing strategy. [thumb] We can't forget Volvo when it comes to safety. They have had some of the highest government crash test rating for at least five years.

5mph? What the hell is the point of a 5mph crash test? A person in a wheelchair can survive a 5mph crash test. That's amazing I bet they spend millions to test cars at 5mph.

What's next shopping-cart collision safety? You know, the government estimates that the average human is worth $260,000. This means that it's cheaper to let everyone die than to make the car safe, pleasant thought isn't it?[thumb]

What they fail to realize is that of course the crash tests for Infinitis and Mercedes are gonna be expensive. I mean, pretend you own a car company that sells cars that cost an average of $45,000. When your consumers f*** up the cars they buy from you, you KNOW they have enough money to fix them if they can afford them in the first place, so they jack up the price. It's all strategy.
