USC vs. LSU. That's what the Sugar Bowl shoulda been in the first place. Still, having the traditional Pac-10 vs. Big 10 rivalry in the Rose Bowl was sorta pacifying. A team that gets absolutely pasted in its conference championship just shouldn't be playing for a national championship of any kind.
I'm glad there's a split championship. Since LSU never played USC, that's the only fair result I see. It wouldn't have felt right if Oklahoma won since they shouldn't have been there in the first place.
