general 5 series infoi needed

hello all. im new here and will hopefully be new 2004 545i owner.

i need some help though. does any have any info on the following:


major changes in the 5 series comming for 05 or 06?
basic review of the 545i
does the smg paddlesystem/tranny have an automatic setting?

i know this is general and im searching the baords as i post this but anted to ask

I'm sure in your search, you'll find some basic review of the 545 as you requested.

As far as the other questions, I can say for sure that the SMG has an automatic mode. Don't expect it to shift as smoothly as a true automatic though.

I doubt there are going to be any MAJOR changes in 05 or 06 but major is a relative term. I'm betting that they'll work out the incompatibilities they are currently having with things like satellite radio & navigation, bluetooth, etc. The rear-seat entertainment package isn't available yet either. You may or may not consider those things major.

I did hear a rumor that an AWD vesion is in the pipeline. If that's true, I'll bet it would be available by 06 (and maybe 05).
