Head Light Warning Buzzer

I wondering if there is a buzzer that goes off if you leave your lights on....my 99..540 seems not to have one or something is wrong with it....any help? thanks

yes, there's a beep. it also goes off if you leave your keys in the ignition.

I figured as much mine must be broken then because it dose not make any sounds ...any idea how to check for it

Isn't this a programmable thing? I'm pretty sure the dealer can enable it.

It might be but wouldn't you think someone would want that faeture on all the time...I mean the key buzzer is a pain but the head light one is a good one to have....they might be one in the same...I'll bet any money its a fuse that's been taken out.

Yes, there is a gong going off and at the same time you should get the message "LIGHTS?" (well, that's a best guess translation, since my 535i "speaks" italian) on your dot matrix display.

I don't think it's the kind of stuff that can be programmed by the dealer; being a warning message, it shouldn't be possible to override it.

Thanks God here in mainland Europe cars don't have a chime for the key in the lock...

I believe on the 540 it is different, my friend has one and on his he only gets a message, but the lights do shut off automatically.
