hey guys, just found this site. my brother has a 91 318is and i dont think his clutch is fully disengaging because it makes one helluva squeal when the pedal is depressed. i was wondering if there are any diagrams or walkthroughs on the proper way to bleed the clutch and see if that works, thanks alot.

btw what is a guido

Welcome to the board. I had a 91 318is with 164k on her with the original factory clutch. I am not sure bleeding is the answer. If your clutch is squealing I am wondering if your throwout bearing is bad? How many miles are on the clutch?

A "Guibo" Is also called a Flex Coupler, It absorbs sock and stress from your transmision output to your driveshaft. If you Jack your car up and look right behind the tanny, Its a Black Dough-Nut shapped thing with 6 bolts. If its worn, stringy, or crack you need to replace it quick.

Squealing when the clutch is depressed is the throwout bearing, just like BigDaddy suggested. The only way to check/replace the throwout bearing is to drop the transmission. This is exactly what my clutch was doing 100 miles before the throwout bearing disintegrated into three pieces and the clutch completely failed on me (260,000 miles on original clutch).
