Hey all.

I've recently acquired another Beem after several years of not owning one. I started out my adventures with an '82 733i, and then moved to an '86 635i. Those autos have been long gone from my garage. In the last several years I sold my Goldwing and moved into the BMW motorcycle line up. Ran an RT for a couple of years and settled on the GS as my current two-wheeler.

So, this spring gave me the opportunity to pick up a '95 530i with just 59K miles on it. Full records, clean Carfax and it has full compression on all 8. Being a CA car, it hasn't been exposed to much sulfer and the US standards have been modified since 2001 so I feel only mild apprehension about problems. The car is pristine and runs great.

If anybody has information on failure rates of the V8's and can share that data, I'd be interested in reading it. Seems that I found many cars of that vintage that were running strong with +100K miles and the original motors. Were the problems encountered hit and miss? I'd like to hear from other 90's owners about their good stories, already heard enough about the failures. Thanks and out....
