help (printing issue)

seeing as how epson doesnt provide cross-platform printer sharing support i though i'd ask here.

just bought and epson stylus phtot r300...hooked it up to my mac...checked the printer sharing box and the windows sharing box

i added the printer on my brother's pc, but when i go to print from my borther's pc, either the printer says ready and wont print or the printer has an"access denied, cannot connect" message

what am i doing wrong or what step did i miss

Looks like a security/sharing problem - the "access denied" message is the prime clue. Depends on what Mac OS version, etc, but you need to give him permission to use the printer, just as you give permission to a folder. Can his PC browse folders on the Mac?

yeah i set up a user for him on my mac and yeah he can browse on my mac (OS 10.3.5)

if i take him off as an account the printer says "ready" but doesnt print and he cant browse foldres.....when he's back as an account the printer gives the message"access denied, unable to connect" but he can browse folders
