I just recently noticed that if I drive my car a little more aggressively or for an extended period of time, when I get to a red light and my car is idling there is a knocking sound coming from the engine. But it still runs smoothly through the RPMs. Anyone know whats wrong with it? Thank you.

Top end, or bottom end?
Does your temp gauge stay in the norm. after driving hard and coming to a stop?
I am not sure, I think it is the bottom end, I feel it if I hold the stick shift and in the low RPMs in first gear and when I am idling, but then the rest is smooth. I don't know about the temperature because the gauge was broken when I bought the car and I have not fixed it yet.

Look into getting your temp gauge fixed ASAP!
Check coolant level/ flush and change coolant, check engine oil level/change oil and filter, try a higher octane fuel to start.
If it continues to play up replace your fuel filter/strainer.

Def. do this before pulling and stripping the motor!

Check your transmission mounts... I had one break before, and it ran like crap unless you were driving.... I was doing some spirited driving, busted the mount and it ran like crap. While you're at it, check the engine mounts... you might not be able to tell if there is anything wrong with them, but if you look at your rad, the fan may have come in contact with it. I'll bet it's the tranny mounts, or more specifically, the cross member they mount to has either broken, or a bolt has rusted out.

Just incase your not sure what your looking for, #2:

There's another on the other side too.
Scotty, i had one of those bad boys ripped clean in half, and before i replaced both didn't notice much of a problem whilst just idling, but rather, when i was powering through the gears feeling i slight thud in between clutch in and out.
Peace.

I had the whole bracket (part #1) break in half... I heard it break, but it drove okay until you stopped, and then sounded like crap. The mounts are well know to fail over time too.
