high temp???

hi all,

finally my car is back. (again) after the headgasket, suspension etc was replaced. it now runs a little hotter than it used to. before it ran between the 1/4 and 1/2 marks and now it runs at 1/2 or slightly over. I only got it back properly today and only took it on a short drive. i'm just wondering what temp you guys run at and if you think i have a problem...

It is not unusual for the fan clutch to go away if it sets on the self in a new direction.

I would recommend a test of the fan clutch.

With the engine cold you should be able to stop the fan clutch by inserting a rolled up news paper into the fan path. When hot or normal it will not stop.

you might just need to bleed the coolant system........

If you bleed the coolant system, refill it w/ 60% H2O, and add a bottle of redline water wetter. That will make your system run a sh*tload colder.

Do what bignate suggests, the watter wetter really does make quite a bit of difference.

cheers guys but it was me being dumb!!! the car isn't over heating at all, the thermostat has been re-set so reads higher (and is more sensitive) however i have got a stuck glovebox which is gonna be smashed ope...i mean fixed correctly at the week end!
