How do I paint Kidney Grills Black and Smoke tail lights??

Could somebody please tell me how to paint the kidney grills, and if I must use spray or by hand and what colour, must I sand.... I need all the details urgently, I gotta do this, almost time to go back too school.

What colour do I need to make the tail lights have the smoked effect and will it work on clear indicators as well.

Hi

You cant use spray! It will peel off. You would have to sand blast it first but it will cost you more. Just buy a new kidney grill. And lights the same thing. You can't do anything to make them black. You have to buy ones which are made like that.

It won't cost me a cent too get it sand blasted, I have access too a sandblaster, and I have heard of people spraying their lights so that they are smoked.

Ya but if you spray your tail lights no one will see your blake lights [slap] you have to BUY smoked tail lights!

A Guy I know just told me on on an M3 Forum just told me to get Testors Model paint for the Lexan R/C cars it is the window tint paint and it gives the lights a smoked look you just have to put a clear coat afterwards.

I did not know that but still you are not going to get that really good black look like this.

I know, but I don't really want them that dark, cause the cops will harass me here, and it is a temp solution, until I can save some cash too get some custom ones made with clear indicator's then im gona get them smoked along with the front and side indicators.

No they will say it is not SABS (quality assured) guarunteed and will want too pull it off the road, they also might give me hell about it not having properly diffused light.

The cops over here are full of it, hey ? they pulled me off the other day because I was driving too fast, or so they say, but when I did no just accept it, and asked to see the reading, they could not show it to me. So my tip for the day : ALWAYS query a speed fine, just like us, the cops are also taking chances, they got bored and decided to pull over a BMW ...

I bet you are scaring the lights out of E46 M3 owners with that setup ... with a Nitrous kit and mods, you will have them eating your dust

Yeah, but im a bit scared too put nos in cause, it can cause some major problems of over used, and knowing me that would probably happen.

Also the engine isn't mine, it is my friends old engine, im saving for a new M3 motor, but that is R42 000 (about $7000), so that might take me till the end of the year.
