How many miles did your tires last?

Well, it looks like I need to replace my rear tires (can't imagine why[bmwdance]). I have around 13.5K on my tires (oe 19" ps), how many did everyone else get?

Now I need to decide, do I get new rims & tires or just replace my rears...[:o)]
On a side note: It's funny how the recommended oil change interval is just as frequent as tire replacement.[confused]

The higher performance the tire the less tread life. I got 10k out of the rear Pilots that came stock on my roadster. I have twice that on my Kuhmos and they look like they should last another 10k. Three times the tread life and a third of the price of Pilots.

It's been a year and I got about 8k on my Eagle RSA's and they've got decent thread left, so I'm guessing they could go about 30-40k (another 2 1/2-3yrs).

Wow! 10K[eek]
I thought I was bad at 13.5K.

I had kuhmo's on my Z28 and loved them.

Yep the original Pilot Sports that came on my 97 Roadster lasted only 10k on the rear, and I did not drive the car hard! The fronts last about 2:1 compared to the rears. The Kuhmo's on the M roadster are doing great and for the price are hard to beat. Such is the life of a driving machine owner....

funny. i live with my pilot sports on the rear axle for 19kmiles now and just changed back to front for the first time. one season = 19kmiles on average. so i guess that through this year i will still drive them and in 2006 i´ll need some new ones. i am totally happy with them. however, recent tests showed that continental currently has the best rubber. i might look into them next year.
those kuhmo and toyo and stuff tires almost always loose big time on dunlop, conti and michelin and sorts of. i don´t trust them.

I used several brands on my previous 325i dunlop being the worse Michelins were too noisy my current 330i came with Conti. later I replace them to Conti sport 2 and they are great 22k kilo on my first set I changed them but they were still good, just wanted to check the difference to Conti sp2 they are very quiet my rears are getting a bit bold but they already run 22k kilo and I think they'll do ok up to 30k. I have run Kuhmos, Michelins, and Toyo Proxes on my roadsters and I would say all three were quality tires. The Michelins were the most expensive and had the least amount of tread life, but were sticky as hell. The Toyos were the next most expensive and were the best performers, and the Kuhmos were the lest expensive, about half the price of the other two, the best tread life, but you sacrifice some grip. Kuhmo has come a long way in the last year and is becoming a major contemder. I have never had any problems witih any of them.
