how to change license plate lights

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get to the lights that illuminate the rear license plate? I failed inspection due to this.

Well, that's kind of weird that both are out at the same time .

You should be able to get to the from the outside. Their too far down to be accessable from the trunk, I would think?

Now I have never changed these light on my BMW, but I have changed many on other cars. Just take your time and study the lenses and you should be able to figure it out. All else fails...suck it up and have the dealer do it.

i dont know about your dealer but the dealer we go to, before i started working there, we just showed up for hte brake lights and they changed it on the spot, dont know about the licence plate illumination lights though but would think it would be the same thing
