Good day, I was able to identify that my Altenator belt is causing the loud whine on acceleration. My question is how easy is it to change belt? Will it fit around the fan without having to take off shroud and fan? Also, The splined adjustment bolt on alt seems stripped. Is this part available. Pelican does not show it? does it come with new alts?

Also, I cut off air cond belt as it is not being used. It appears that I must first take off Power steering belt to get to Alt belt. Any hints would be appreciated!
Thanks [pray]

Yes, the alternator belt can be removed without taking the fan or shroud off.

About the stripped adjusting bolt, is it the front toothed end that has no teeth, or is it the threaded locking nut at the back?
If its ok at the front just clean up the threads (depending on how bad they are) with a thread file, or get it rethreaded using the right size.

Photo's?

Loosen the rear nut. Use a lever to tilt the alternator to correct tension. Tighten bolt. Same as you would any Japanese car that doesn't have the toothed adjustment slide.
Do exactly that, or if the bolt is really bad, replace with an equivalent new bolt from any parts store.
Saves you having to wait for pelican parts, or pay the dealer price for a new one.

Good luck, see how you go.
