Nothing like stating the obvious - these are the people that our tax dollars pay to predict hurricanes....
I think what they are saying is that because two will have struck in such a short period of time that it will be the Hurricane Camille, which struck the guld coast in in 69 had sustained winds of 200 mph, and was at the time the worst in history. This thing is a monster. Did you see the size comparisons between the two hurricanes? The winds are not as strong as others so less damage ( ) but the size is amazing.
