This is similar to the other members problem but slightly different

My AC works great but the heater/defrost just does not get real warm. It gets sort of warm and blows fine but the heat temp level is not where it should be. Any suggestions on what to check? I dont know anything about this cars system but know cars.... Thanks

there's a valve that controls the coolant going through the heater core... it's probably stuck closed. I can't find my book on the E30 (been missing for months)... I've never replace one, but I had the same problem.

so that valve controling the coolant through the heater core controls the heat temp for inside the car?? For the inside heater? Never thought of that.. If you find any other info please post up and I will research myself - thanks

it opens and closes a valve in the water line, if it's closed, no water in the core, no heat exchange, if it's open, it'll be hot... I can't remember if the valve is in the engine compartment, or if it's under the dash. (I need to find that damn book!)
