installing fan clutch

do i really need a torque wrench to install a new fan clutch? If not, how should i guage how tight to turn the four screws and reattach it? thanks. 84' 318i

I didn't use a torque wrench. I just got the fan clutch as tight as I could get it.

torque wrenches are for dorks... you just tighten it until it doesnt turn anymore

(note: torques are important when inside the engine, otherwise, hack away)

Don't tighten it too tight though. Just gradually nip it tighter
