After seeing my instrument dials hiccup and the MPG indicator dial dancing back n forth I decided to buy some Nickel Metal Hydride recharegeables, pull the SI board out and wire the battery leads down toa little AA box under the dash. When I pulled out the board it had been remanufactured and contained to small Lithium batteries, so I decided to yank these out, the battery leaked down, I got it cleaned up and when i started the car and drove all the instruments worked fine.......after a day the MPG guage went screwy again. Now the tachometer is really slow and wont pass 1,000, it's like it's sedated and lazy. My question is has anyone had this happen. I'm wondering if I should get a new instrument cluster or get a new SI board. One website sells the cluster (Motometer) one at 4500 rpm's and one at 6500. Ive also checked ebay but I'd like to keep the mileage I have accurate. Anya dvice would be appreciated.
