Instrument cluster/transmission leak/starter?

Instrument cluster:

The mpg fuel economy guage flips out and dances about. The rpm guage also has epileptic seizures. I read that this could be due to broken solder joints in the cluster board or the nicad batteries. What kind of batteries (Nimh) would I need to replace this battery with?

Transmission leak:

About midway down the car there is a leak. I'm taking it in to a mechanic, hoping it's just a gasket replace job, but I read that this car has a problem with that, and to live with the leak, its a leak due to radial movement inherint in this transmission system. I read there are 2 types of oils for this..one is slip the other limited diff... how would i know which mine is?

Starter:

The car sometimes has to churn a few times to start up..and thats at the very end when I'm about to pull the ignition back off. I have already replaced the car battery...what else could it be? the starter motor? a relay?

what year did they stop using carbs and use injectors on the 325's?

You should probably replace the batteries when your down there, but it sounds like gauge is just going out to me.

That is for a speedometer but it is the same basic principals. I would reccoment just getting another tach and save the hassle, I just busted my speedo even more trying to reflow joints. If you need a 5k one I have on that works fine.

Thats my 2 cents on the cluster as for the other stuff I don't know, but with all the crap ive had to do to my cluster im a damn near expert on it lol.

I think 84 or 85 they stopped using carbs but I really don't know, im sure someone else does though.
