Intermittent Wiper System

My wipers work, but the intermittent wiper function stopped working recently. I've heard it could be the rain sensor in the windshield.

I then went on a BMW parts website (http://www.bimmerpartswholesale.com) and saw that a wiper relay is available. I called the number, spoke to a rep, explained the problem and he told me the relay was potentially all that I needed.

Does anyone know where this relay goes? I don't have a service manual. OR, does anyone have any knowledge/experience in this matter?

Please help.

I had the same issue before, it was the sensor, I didn't replace it as I don't normally use the wipers.

The intermittent wiped a few times when I first turn it on, then it stopped.
If I turn it off, and on again, it will go a few times and quit again.
Regular speed settings work fine though.

This is what happens when they try to be smart and put unreliable electronic functions for lazy-ass retards. I mean, whoever can't coordinate the use of the wiper control speeds manuallly while driving, and as if the rain sensor will help in such a big way...?? Those POS fail in most of the cars! Doesn't BMW realize that their electronics fail at a very high rate, and are extremely unreliable? Why can't they learn and improve, buy electronics parts from the Japanese!

More Problems: Electrical

Thanks man. I hear ya about the crappy electronics.

About a month ago, I had my latest problem. The turn signal lights and the highbeam indicator light on my dashboard all stopped working. These lights work on the outside of the car, but not on the dashboard. I don't mind as I've never been a fan of the turn signal "tic-toc". But the high beam indicator light, I miss. There have been quite a few times since this happened that I didn't realize I had my high beams on until someone facing me kept flashing me with their brights. Ugh! AND...the reverse lights don't come on now. What's next????
