JUst got word I'm getting Sugar Bowl Tickets!!

I just got my letter confirming I am getting 2 Sugar Bowl tickets (although I have 4 season tickets). But I think I am going to sell them. They are drawing at least $1500/pair on E-bay and right now I could use the money. Just found out my kid needs braces ($4300), Cruise vacation the wife planned in January ($$$), Christmas for the kids ($$$) and it's the time of year I have to renew my donation to OU for the privledge of getting Football tickets (about $1000 before the price of the 4 tickets) so rather than spend additional money to go to New Orleans, I think these will go to e-bay. It will be tuff though because I was at the 2000 National Championship game at the Orange Bowl and know how really cool it can be.

I ought to hit you. I entered the student lottery down here at LSU and didn't get a ticket. I could have sold that thing for $500, easily. Oh well, I'll still probably party it up in New Orleans, just won't go to the game. BTW, LSU will win.

I heard on the news that all 144 members of the Louisiana legislature got 6 tickets each and the Governor got 2 suites (about 40 tickets) and sin't even planning on going.

It was the same way at the Orange Bowl a few years ago. Corporations and politicians grab up the majority of the tickets, leaving very few for the real fans and causing them to pay huge amounts to get them. OU was allocated just 16,000 tickets when we have about 75,000 season ticket holders.

You gotta love the "good ol' boy" political machine that runs Louisiana. I just moved down here for school a few months ago, so I look at it from an outsider's point of view. The fact that a gov't can be so corrupt that people just don't care amazes me.

Gotta love those college fans........went to the Cotton Bowl this last New Year's and watched LSU and Texas......crazy people.......better days were when Tennessee played in the Sugar Bowl.........[rofl] [rofl] [rofl]

Go LSU!!!!!!!!
