Hi,

I have just joined, so hello to everyone.

I have a E46 M3, and live in england, I was wondering if anyone could help,
I need to take my ecu out to get it re-mapped but I am having trouble locating it, could someone help. And maybe a guide to doing it.

Thanks.

1) Find the black box to the right of the brake fluid reservoir.
2) Unbolt the cover to the black box
3) Remove the cover
4) Look for the DME/(ECU), it looks like it's about 6"(long) x 1" (thick) with lots of wires coming out of it.
5) With no key in the ignition, disconnect all of the wire connectors from the DME
6) Remove DME from car by pull the DME straight up and release the two plastic clips that hold the DME in place.

Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I had to wait until the weather cleared up before I can take some pictures.

This is where the DME is located at.

Hi tom,

Thanks for the pictures, it was were I thought, my brake res is on the other side(right hand drive)

I was going for a superchip, I was going to send the ecu away.

I take it you have a plug'n'play, did you fit it yourself, was it easy?

Do you know of anymore chips that are availible?

Thanks.
