Location of SI board and method of removal

I found some real jewels of advice on this forum and I hope that I will find advice for following issue. My 87 325i convertible tach and fuel milage is not working. There is possibility that it is caused by dead batteries on SI board. I have service manual that briefly address IS board but fails to identify its location and method of removal. Can anyone help me with this issue? Thanks in advance.

To anyone interested there is Silver 87 325I for sale in Rock Hill South Carolina. It is unfortunately for me automatic. I have phone number if you are interested. Guy wants 5,000 for it but I think he would come down alot.
