Loose Brake Pads

I have finally located the sound of this clinking noise on my front wheel. The rattling clink is from a loose brake pad bouncing around in the caliper. This also explains my squeeling brakes. I haven't actually gotten into the caliper to take a look, but am pretty confident that's the culprit. How can I fix this?

did the pad material come off the metal backing?

unless that happened I dont see how they are loose.

If they did come off the backing that would be a defect and your manufaturer should cover it.

That was it! The car is relatively new to me, but a little silicone grease on the back of the pads ended it. No more rattle or brake squeal!
