I just put some new tires and rims on my 540....I went with 18" 8.5 fronts and 9.5 rears....I'm wondering what springs and shocks/struts that would be best for ride and stiffness.....I don't want any problems with rubbing....thanks for the help!

Screw bilstein, get Koni adjustables. Bilstein are good if you like to feel every pebble on the road with no real advantage. Koni's rock.

I've decided to go with the koni's but now what spring?.....I've looked at H&N but here is my biggest concern....I do not want any rubbing on the back should I have passengers or things in the trunk....any suggestions?

The rims in the back are 9.5 inches wide.....

For an E39 I'm not sure - But I know H&R and eibachs are the two more popular springs for an e34. E34 and e39 performance options really aren't too different, but I would check an e39 forum if I were you.
