I Have A '96 M3 Coupe And I Lost The D~~~~ Remote Key And All I Have Is The Valet Key. My Problem, I Use The Key And Open The Door And The Alarm Goes Off. Am I Doing Something Wrong? I Can't Use The Car If The Alarm Doesn't Disable And Without The Master Remote/key I Can't Disable. What Use Is The Valet Key If It Doesn't Disable The Alarm!!!!! Doc

You give the valet key to the valey kid so that he can start the car and open the doors. But before you give him the valet key, you don't arm the alarm using the master key or alarm/remote entry fob. He will not be able to open the trunk or glove box if you've locked them with a master key.

Take it easy man; people are just trying to understand your problem so they can help. Here are a few suggestions:

1) Look in your alarm system manual and find the fuse for your alarm (all alarms that I have ever seen/installed have fuses). Remove the fuse.

2) Go to your dealer and buy a new key from them and they'll program it for you; cost you a lot.

3) Disconnect your battery, open the door and start your car as soon you reconnected, fast enough so it's before the alarm goes back on.

Good luck man,
Sean

One other thing; most alarms come with a manual disable switch (usually buried under the dash) I don't know about stock BMW alarm systems, but all aftermarket and Toyota Alarms have a switch under the dash; might want to look into that as well.
