Just some info for some M5 drivers. The other day i was going to lunch and found a large puddle of oil under my car. I cleaned the engine with degreaserupon starting the car i noticed that oil was just spraying out of the vanos solenoid connector on the bank two side. replaced the vanos unit (1500 dollars) i scanned the faults after this and found that i had a misfire fault possibly due to the vanos going bad so i cleared it. While out playing one day i rev to about 5800 RPM and the engine fell on it's face. when i got back to work i scanned the faults again found a misfire on cylinder 6. multiplicative and adaptive fuel trims were completely messed up one was richening the mix the other was leaning the A/F ratio. Replaced both mass air flow sensors and the car came back to life and will now rev forever ( to a limit of course) with no misfires.

Mine is not an e34 but i do agree with you the e34's are a great vehicle if you keep your valves in check. (E39 V8) I love the torque you get from my car. I have done nuthing to it but i could not imagine the power if someone were to super charge one of them.

The 5's definitely have lots of torque. 250lb-ft from my 3.5L and it's great.

Yo I love those too! I've heard a few burn off after I've asked the driver to do so and my heart nearly melted when that S62 hit its straps [headbang]

You're a lucky man Nathan! [thumb]

Its amazing how many problems a simple exchange of the Maf's will eliminate, did you do the maf self test? What reading did you get for the 2nd Gear WOT? Mine hit 161 and blows all the way to the limiter [headbang] .
E39 is basically shock and awe right? Love it. What colour is your beast? Mine is Oxford Green with Arizona Sun Independent leather and is beautiful. A real wolf in sheeps clothing.
