I would just like to know if the auto E90 has features that the manual dosent. Such as start-off assistance ( when the car dosent roll back on a steep hill ) or does the manual also have that feature too?

Also one more thing... My car came with the cold weather package... however im not too sure how to use my retractable headlight washers. is it automatic with my windshield washers or is there another way to use them? Thanks for replies.

Manual also has the hill holding feature too. It will hold for 2 sec.

As for the second question, I don't know since I don't have my E90 yet. But I guess it must have a separate control for the wash, just like the windsheid wash. I think consulting owner manual is in order. [bmwdance]

Every 3 uses of the windsheild washer should cause the headlight washers to come out... thats how it worked on the E46 at least...

I believe all the cars have the anti-roll feature.

That's the way it works with Audis. No separate controls for the headlight washers.

That's a wack attack. I know Mercedes just gives you a button to push....it used to be like Audi but in all honesty, headlight washers are the most worthless yet coolest feature ever. If you ever actually NEED to use your headlight washers, what you REALLY need is to wash your whole darn car!

I have an E46 with the Cold Package and my recollection is that the headlight washers only operate when the lights are on. I don't have the daytime running lights programmed on during the day so I don't know if they constitute an on-state. Also, when the lights are on, I don't recall them cleaning every time; maybe every other few times.

I have to agree with the general consensus that headlight washers are next to useless...maybe if you're driving around a muddy road, but who would do that to their 3-series?
