sorry i dont know prices, but everyone always asks, what about a new motor. how about open the motor up and find out whats broke, might be cheaper to do plus you gain hand in building a motor. its not all that hard, just have to have some tools. and a bently manaul.

I've seen good motors in the 325 range go for about $600, 89-90 vintage and 1000 for a nice 325i from 93-95.... M3's on the other hand are harded to come by and I myself was thinking about getting an M3 from a junkyard rear ended or side hit a using just motor-tranny-ecu and harness to fit on mine.....
