I had the fuel pump relaced on my 540i by a backyard mechanic (literally). The car could not start after replacing the pump, not even a click when the key is turned. A BMW dealer told me it is the EWS system and will cost me $750.00 plus $265.00 for checking/diagnostics. I don't have $1,000.00 right now. Please HELP! How can I change my EWS. I was also told by the dealer, it will have to be turned on after being replaced.. Please HELP me
